The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board has officially announced the DSSSB Legal Assistant – AE – JE and ASO > Recruitment 2026 as Advertisement No. 01/2026. The Delhi government has announced a total of 911 jobs for legal assistants – assistant engineers – junior engineers and assistant section officers in different departments. The online application process will start on February 24th of the year 2026 and end on March 2026 at 11:00 PM. As per the schedule the test will be given in computer-based test i.e CBT mode and then the documents of the selected aspirants will be checked.

Age Criteria:
The prescribed age limit differs according to the position – an aspirant have applied for.
- Minimum Age: The candidate must be between 18 and 21 years of age – depending on the post.
- Maximum Age: The upper age limit ranges from 30 to 35 years – depending on the post.

Academic qualification:
For the position of legal assistant: the applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in law with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and for the vacancy of assistant engineer – civil: the applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering while for a junior engineer – civil: the applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering/a diploma in civil engineering with 2 years of experience. for the post of assistant section officer: the applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in any subject.
Exam Pattern:
Legal Assistant {Dual Tier > Technical}:
Tier I: 200 multiple-choice questions with 200 points that must be completed in 2 hours
Tier II: 200 multiple-choice questions with 300 points that must be completed in three hours
Note:- Tier I is qualifying only and the final merit is based on the Tier II exam.Note:
Assistant and Junior Engineer {Single Tier > Technical}:
There are a total of 200 questions with 300 points which are distributed in two sections – section A and section B – that must be completed in three hours. The questions are equally divided between section A and Section B – Section A include general subject MCQs, while Section B containss technical MCQs with each question carrying two marks
Assistant Section Officer {Dual tier > General}:
Tier I: includes 200 multiple-choice questions with 200 marks.
Tier II > Part I: includes 200 multiple-choice questions { MCQs} with 200 marks
Tier II > Part II: consists of Descriptive questions carrying 100 Marks
Note:- Negative marking is applied. 0.25 marks are deducted for 1-mark questions and 0.50 marks are deducted for 2-mark questions.
Monthly Income Scale:
Selected candidates will receive a salary according to the 7th Pay Commission norms. In addition to basic pay – the candidates will also get benefits like DA along with HRA and other allowances according to the rules of government.
